Accounting Services Associate

The Accounting Services Associate assists our clients with their bookkeeping, basic accounting, and payroll functions. The Associate is responsible for providing exceptional, personalized customer services to several clients of varying sizes and complexity; time management and organizational skills are critical.

Core Responsibilities 

  • Process, record, and pay invoices, bills and other transactions for managed client accounts
  • Record financial transactions, balancing and reconciling accounts for small businesses and personal financial statements
  • General ledger and financial statement preparation
  • Prepare weekly and bi-weekly payroll and subsequent payroll taxes
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with each client and address any questions or issues that arise
  • Assume responsibility for effectively researching, tracking, and resolving accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
  • Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology
  • Timely and accurate processing of month-end and year-end closing and reporting
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience 

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant professional experience
  • 2+ years using QuickBooks Software (Desktop and Online), QuickBooks certified preferred


  • Proficient MS Office with advanced Microsoft Excel skills  
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven history of providing premiere service to clients with a can-do attitude
  • Strong analytical and problem solving with a commitment to the highest level of quality and output
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principals
  • Must be able to work seasonal overtime (March-April & September-October) including evenings and weekends
  • Good time management skills; ability to juggle and meet multiple critical deadlines and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills and tools
  • Ability to identify and discuss issues and present workable solutions in a simple, meaningful, and focused manner with all levels of the team and clients
  • Takes ownership of assigned responsibilities and work independently
  • Prior experience in a public accounting firm preferred
