Summer 2026 Investment Project Tax Intern

The Investment Project Tax Interns will assist with our ongoing investment partnership project by performing analytical and compliance-related tasks. Interns will also gain exposure to partnership tax forms, documentation procedures, and leading tax preparation software as well as Microsoft Excel, Teams, and Adobe PDF tools.

Time Commitment

Our Investment Project Tax Intern Program is a full-time internship paid at a rate of $28 per hour. You will be expected to work 35 hours per week for 12 weeks and there may be opportunities for overtime. Your availability will be discussed during the interview process. Our summer internship will begin in mid-May and conclude in mid-August. We recommend no more than one or two evening classes during your internship to ensure both your success in the internship and your schoolwork does not suffer.

Essential Functions

General

  • Reviewing tax source documents including Schedule K-1s from underlying investments
  • Analysis on tax return source documents such as hedge fund K1, state K1, interpreting footnotes, and identifying foreign reporting
  • Recording data from source documents into workpapers files to be used for preparing the tax returns related to the investment partnership project
  • Utilizing advanced AI-driven software to streamline and enhance data entry processes
  • Build a working knowledge of tax forms and processes
  • Demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks
  • Proactively seeking guidance, clarification and feedback
  • Learning about the Firm – get to know partners/managers, services provided, specialties of individuals, key clients and industries served
  • Building communication skills: practice business writing (clear workpapers and emails), working with other professionals, and feeling comfortable in business situations.

Required Education and Experience

  • Must be an Accounting major expected to graduate in 2027 or 2028.
  • Energetic and team-oriented
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel
