Tax, Audit, Firm and Regulatory News

Here at Topel Forman, we often talk about balance which can mean many things, including reconnecting, providing flexible time off, and more. In our field, by nature, we always have busy tax seasons. As a result, employee satisfaction has always been at the forefront of our strategy, and we have recently further embraced the concept of creating a work and life balance culture. We promote the well-being of our employees, both in and out of the office.

Our employees work hard to provide world-class client service, and we believe our people deserve support. We offer a variety of dynamic benefits that help keep everyone engaged. Here are a few examples of what summer is like at Topel Forman.

Annual Summer Outing
As a growing company of about 130 employees, we like to host a summer firm outing every year to reconnect and have fun together. We have a rotating list of event venues we book, and this year, we tapped into our aquatic side, renting a boat for the afternoon on the lake in Chicago. It is a great time where we can come together, catch up on life events, celebrate success, and have fun.

Flex Time
In addition to our minimum of 25 days per year of paid time off, during our non-busy seasons, our employees only work 35 hours per week. We also offer them the opportunity to complete those hours within four days and take the fifth day off. We want to support and encourage our employees to pursue their passions during the summer.

Charity Events
We are grounded in a charitable philosophy and give to our communities whenever possible. Every employee at Topel Forman gets paid time each year to volunteer. We like to plan group events to be able to participate together. Employees will have at least four options to choose from every summer. This year we went to Feed My Starving Children (Schaumburg), Denver Metro Caring, Shriners Hospital for Children, and Anti-Cruelty Society. While we have many ways we give to organizations throughout the year, some of our favorites are these events in which we can donate our time to do good.
